eBay Finds of the Day

Dearest Blog-Readers,

I am back on my eBay kick. I'd been avoiding it since my work hours were cut in half which prevented me from buying lovely, vintage Hollywood Regency or Modern lovelies. Oh well, I'm still window-shopping per se. And honestly, there are so many fantastic things on eBay. It's like going to one of those stores where you love just about everything. Oh well, enjoy the eBay finds below. I'm totally checking out those French yellow nightstands and that silver headboard to be honest.

*I really love this silver headboard. I have a duvet cover with a metallic-y sea foam green triple piping and these shams from West Elm:


*Anyway, my plan is to 'accessorize with some turquoise throw pillows and a blankie and I think really think yellow would make the turquoise POP! I don't know about the metallic on metallic though. What do you think? I'm not buying anything anytime soon, so I have time to really think about this.*

Ebay Finds of the Day

As my mother and friends and some strangers will tell you, I love ebay. It is the most serious retail relationship that I have ever been in. There are unique and lovely pieces that would never be found in stores today. So on that note, I'm making a list of the pieces of art, linen, furniture and decor that I've been watching right here.

What did I tell you? Beautiful pieces and that's not even a quarter of my "Watching/Wanting" list. Not everything on ebay is cheap or worth the bargain, though. Particularly furniture. That lovely tufted headboard is $899. Even if the furniture is affordable, shipping and handling fees are usually monstrous. But if you're patient and find the perfect chair or lamp or whatever that you might not ever find in a store near you, then those fees are little bit more tolerable.

I definitely encourage anyone who is even remotely interested in vintage/antique anything to check out Ebay though. Please note that you run the risk of becoming an addict like me:) Happy hunting!

Fabrications of the Mind

I braved the blazing midday sun Tuesday afternoon in Atlanta's Interior Design district. I'm not sure if that's what most Atlantans call this area, between Howell Mill and Huff Roads, but it only makes sense. There were so many interior design, fabric, furniture and antique shops in this area that I didn't have time to visit them all.

I went with my mom, who's a real-live Interior Decorator by trade and vocation. So anyways, we stopped by Forsyth Fabrics, Lewis & Sharon Textile Comapny and it's sister company, StaceAge. You can click the links to view their vast collections of fabrics, wallcoverings, trims and furniture. I need fabric for my chairs, ottoman and I'm going to make a tufted headboard. But first the chairs, which I'll start work on next Monday and I'll document throughout the week as I go along...if I don't get too frustrated that is.

Anyways, my favorite fabrics, thus far, has come from Lewis & Sharon Textile Company. Here are some beautiful examples, the first one will be used for my dining room chairs, the others are just either really beautiful or I'm actually considering for my other pieces.

This is the Fiorenza, a Damask print that's a steal @ $15.98/yd. I love the bold and bluntness of this fabric and actually I think it's going to be a bit more versatile in my dining room and it will work just as well as my Docksta table.


This one is a silk Dupioni (I think) and it definitely seems like it would make for a bold, durable and easy to clean fabric for my ottoman and/or my headboard.

These two fabrics I can't afford at all. They're both from StaceAge and cost $75/yard. However, I love the tongue-in-cheek design, especially of the Buckhead motif. Get it? Buckhead...her store is in Buckhead. I think it's funny.
