Dining Room Salon Arrangement

Hello and Happy Thanksgiving Eve,

I'm almost done arranging the art in my dining room. I hung them in the salon-style, I think that's what you'd call it. Some of what I've hung are just those ubiquitous art cards from Ikea. I've also hung some photos that I purchased at an art walk here in Atlanta, as well as some post cards. I also tore out some pages from one of my books (blasphemy, I know) as well as the book cover. I'm going to hang up one or two large pieces (including, my beloved Warhol poster) and then I'll be done. YAY!

My Dining Room....so far

Hello Dollies!

So I've made some progress with my dining room, but not nearly as much as I'd have liked. I have a dining room table finally, courtesy of Ikea and I almost have a dining room chairs. I still haven't gotten around to those darned cushions. And, because of recent changes at my job, I don't think I'll be buying a whole of lot of anything anytime soon.

But don't worry, I'm not worried. I now have more time to drum up some freelance writing (hire me, please) and I have more time to blog now. YAY! Anywho, here are some pictures of my dining room in medias res. There's so much that needs to be done, but I am pleased with what little bit I've accomplished so far. Let me know what you guys think. I'd love to hear your opinions:)

Dining Room Inspiration- Moodboard Time

Just taking a little break from painting my chairs to show you all my dining room inspiration. Take a look lovelies. Soon you will all see my beautiful, glossy black chairs. Next week, I have to learn how to sew and I'm getting that Ikea Docksta dining room table for my birthday (which is Sunday, by the way). Let me know what you all think.

I love.....Vignettes

Happy July 1st everyone. It's sunny and hot and beautiful today, and I've been fighting this cold virus for the past few days.

Anyway, I've been looking at the space in my dining room and I figured that I'm going to need much more than a dining table and chairs to make this space feel organic and beautiful. I just posted some pictures in my Flickr photostream if you want to see that and other pictures of my still bare bones apartment.

On that note, I think it would be a great idea to create a bar area and/or some arranged art on the wall facing opposite the window. I've been scouring all my back issues of Domino and Elle Decor AND I've searched online for some ideas. Here are the dining room vignettes that I love the most:

Not all of these even qualify as vignettes and now that I think about it, I want a sidebar or credenza for my wine & spirits separate from any art that I might hang in the dining room. The wall adjacent to the window might work better for that. Hmmmmm......must go shopping very, very soon.
