Bloggers Day of Action for Haiti

"Amwe, Amwe!"
Help me, Help me!

Dear Readers:

My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to Haiti, anyone from Haiti, anyone with relatives from Haiti. Now is most certainly NOT the time to proselytize on the occurrence of natural disasters. Now is the time to help in anyway possible and leave whatever opinions we have at the door.

On that note, I've joined Jeanine of AphroChic and several other bloggers to help raise awareness about the different charities that are taking donations to help the citizens of Haiti during this awful natural disaster. Take a look at the list below:

From the White House Blog:

"For those interesting in helping immediately, simply text "HAITI" to "90999" and a donation of $10 will be given automatically to the Red Cross to help with relief efforts, charged to your cell phone bill."

From Mashable: The Social Media Guide:

Musician Wyclef Jean has used Twitter to rally web users to contribute to his grassroots Yele Haiti earthquake fund. He’s urged his followers to text “Yele” to the number 501501. If you send the text, the organization will receive $5.

Below are just a handful of organizations you can donate to:

MercyCorps
American Red Cross
AmeriCares
DirectRelief International
American Jewish World Service
Yele Haiti
Google Support Disaster Relief
Oxfam
Ushahidi
